FACILITATE LEADER EVALUATION
"Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other." - John F. Kennedy
Our Philosophy
Our Process
Our Deliverables
-
Not only are district administrator evaluations required by statue, it is important feedback for the leader of the district to grow in their role.
-
Administrator feedback should represent the Board of Education's consensus, not individual members' views.
-
With Leader Excellence, LLC facilitating the process, the Board President is able to fully participate without the need to manage the meeting
-
Feedback should include observed behavior, decisions, and actions of the district leader.
-
Learn your district’s evaluation rubric and process for evaluating the district leader.
-
Prior to a close session, have board members use the district’s evaluation policy or process to write down thoughts about the administrator’s performance and support those opinions with recalled observations.
-
During a closed session, develop board consensus around all the items in the evaluation rubric, rankings, or scores and record them.
-
Finish by working with the board on goals for the administrator for the next year, again building consensus.
-
The Board President will be provided a draft of the consensus evaluation from the closed session meeting. He or she can then edit the evaluation document.
-
Following your local process for administrator evaluation, the document can be presented to the board or given directly to the administrator prior to a discussion with the administrator.
